**The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) is seeking qualified and enthusiastic individuals to join our Forensic Services within the Direct Care and Treatment (DCT) division of agency.**
The Forensics Services campus in St. Peter is comprised of the Forensic Mental Health Program and the Forensic Nursing Home. Forensics Services provides mental health evaluation and treatment services to individuals diagnosed with a mental illness who present a risk to public safety. This is a safe and secure treatment environment.
In the role of the Imam, at the St. Peter Forensic Mental Health Program (FMHP), you will provide religious and spiritual ministry to patients from the Islamic tradition, whether self-identified or unaffiliated with the Islamic tradition. The Imam will address the religious, spiritual, moral, and ethical problems of patients in accordance with the Islamic tradition.
+ Serves as a Chaplain professional providing religious ministry services to patients requesting Islamic spiritual care.
+ Engages as a spiritual leader, compassionate listener, consultant, and counselor, especially during times of crisis and offer prayer and religious services
+ Conducts informal spiritual assessments to identify patient strengths and needs and assists with creating plans for care in response to the moral injuries and spiritual distress of patients.
+ Chaplaincy services are available to patients or staff in the event of emergency or critical incidents such as death or serious illness/crisis. In case of death of a patient, the Imam will provide the spiritual care to the family members or the treatment facility as appropriate.

**Minimum Qualifications**
To qualify, applicants must meet either of the following criteria:
+ Master of Divinity degree or a related degree program from a graduate school accredited by the Association of Theological Schools or equivalent AND completion of a minimum of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education from a CPE center that is accredited by an organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
AND
+ Knowledge of Islam and Muslim traditions, beliefs, and customs.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Experience working with individuals diagnosed with serious mental illness, substance use, or in a forensic setting (e.g., jails, prisons, or courts).
