Position Summary:

Under direction of the Nurse Manager/RN, and in collaboration with other team members, the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) will provide care to all patients from infancy thru geriatrics. Functions in a 1st or 2nd scrub role, or as a Circulating Assistant. Possesses expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combines the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician’s performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures. Routinely provides “on call” and weekend coverage to insure timely service to all patients and customers.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required: Graduate of a school for surgical technology and maintains ST certification. National Certification (NBSTA) (NCCT) is required upon date of hire. National Certification is maintained and proof of 30 hrs of relevant continuing education every 2 years. Certification in NCCT with annual recertification. CPR certification.

Preferred: Employed in a 1st and 2nd scrub role on or before 12/29/20 OR employed at another healthcare facility in the 2 years prior to 12/29/20
