Certified Surgical Tech - Middlebrook Ambulatory Surgery Center
Shift: Full-Time, Days, Monday-Friday, NO Call & NO Weekends

As a Certified Surgical Technologist at Middlebrook Ambulatory Surgery Center, you’ll play a vital role in doing what you do best- providing quality care to our patients. Requirements:

Certification by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting(NBSTSA) or provide sufficient evidence that, prior to May 21, 2007, the applicant was at any time employed as a surgical technologist for not less than eighteen (18) months in the three (3) years preceding May 21, 2007, in a hospital, medical office, surgery center, or an accredited school of surgical technology.3-5 years similar experience in an ASC intraoperative setting, ENT, General Surgery, and/or Endoscopy experience preferredBLS Certified

About the Job:

Plans and implements direct and indirect care to patients of all ages in the Operating Room. Prepares and maintains aseptic surgical procedures performed in surgery, functioning in a scrub role and part of the OR team.  Process contaminated surgical instruments through the cleaning, sterilization and re-setting the surgical trays using via to established guidelines, ensuring all required documentation is complete and accurate.Efficiently and effectively assists physician with operative procedures.  Prepares the operating room for surgical casesAnticipates surgeon / physician’s needs both in preparing for procedures and during the procedureRetains all specimens to be sent to pathology, proper recordation of detailsConducts sponge, needle and instrument count pre-operatively and intraoperative with circulating nurseTransports all surgical equipment to appropriate cleaning areasDemonstrates knowledge of specific responsibilities in all emergency situations. Assists in sterile supply with cleaning and reprocessing of instrument sets. Contributes to teamwork by returning equipment to proper storage area, picking up and returning supplies, and closing rooms at the end of the day

Surgeries performed will include ear/nose/throat, facial plastics, colorectal, gastro-intestinal endoscopy, gynecologic and general. The surgery center is designed and built with the patient experience in mind.
