Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Lead - Loudoun
The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) Lead exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures, in accordance with the nurse practitioner licensure regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice and Protocol for Nurse Practitioners. Optimizes daily function of and care delivery provided by CRNA team. The CRNA lead serves as the direct supervisor for Front-Line CRNA providers in the service line. Demonstrates respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines while using an integrated approach to achieve desired patient outcomes. Utilizes evidenced based standards, guidelines and protocols for care delivery.

Job Responsibilities

Practices in accordance with safe and effective standards of care and ensures compliance with professional and ethical standards of practice Develops differential diagnosis and plans of care based on data collection and revises based on physiologic and psychosocial findings. Interprets and synthesizes laboratory, imaging and other pertinent data Reviews patient plan of care with interdisciplinary team and with the patient and family Evaluates and documents patients' response to car, and evaluates impact of illness on patients' health status, functional status, nutritional status, sleep and rest patterns, family and social relationships, and establishes a health promotion strategy. Assumes clinical management for the critically ill cardiovascular patient population in collaboration with physicians in practice Assists in the development and revision of standards for patient populations and integrates evidence based research findings into clinical practice Participates in clinical research/data collection and assists in projects and planning for continual development of respective specialty Provides clinical and professional educational programs to improve staff knowledge Manages and coaches APPs on day-to-day clinical work and is a clinical expert and resource for all direct-report APPs Ensures appropriate scheduling and staffing is maintained and escalates staffing needs in an appropriate and timely manner Executes onboarding of all CRNA’s within the Service Line Liaison between APPs, nursing, physicians and other providers Works with APP Manager to ensure appropriate practice agreements and delineation of privileges are in place Critically evaluates care delivery structures and plans and works with service line leadership to refine and implement May perform additional duties as assigned

Certification - Basic Life Support upon start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (for Critical Care) upon start; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (for Pediatrics) upon start; CRNA Board Certification completed through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists upon startLicensure - Registered Nurse Compact License (depending on State of primary residence) and a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Prescriptive Authority for Licensed Nurse Practitioners Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Prescriptive Authority License" AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances) upon start; CRNA Specialty License upon startExperience - 3 years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse AnesthetistEducation - Bachelor's in Nursing and Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners, OR a certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools, American College of Nurse Midwives, American Association of Colleges of Nursing of the National League for Nursing; Certificate from an education program that is accredited by the Council of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs/Schools
