The Press Die Technician will require a self-directed, team-oriented individual who demonstrates pride and ownership in his/her work and is willing to accept total responsibility for die and insert control. The Die Technician will perform the necessary routine procedures to monitor the dry product to ensure product specifications are being met. The Die Technician will also be responsible insert life cycle, procuring insert replacements as well the installation of inserts into the production dies. This position will interact with all plant personnel and must have good oral and written skills in order to communicate deviations from standards and corrective actions.

Salary, based on experience and other qualifications: $28.06 per hour.
Position DetailsCycle count inventories when needed.Conduct routine sampling/auditing of extruded pasta to ensure processing and product specifications are being met. (as minimally outlined by QA Manager).Track insert life cycle and maintain insert spreadsheet to predict insert replacement needs.Update insert measurement file in quality database. Order inserts in a timely manner to ensure company specifications and service levels are maintained. Installation of inserts into production diesKeep up with production schedule and ensure dies are cleaned and ready for production runAssist with Press ChangeoverWork with Press lead as needed to support department needsPerform daily floor walks to help operators identify and address extrusion issues.Monitor die washroom to ensure corporate food safety procedures are being followed and the room is maintained in an orderly fashion. Ensure compliance with all safety programs and maintain hazard free work areas.Must be able to adjust his/her own work schedule in order to support a 24hour operation (may require overtime as operation requires). Be able to effectively communicate with team members to support a self-directed work environment.Use sound judgment in exercising caution to ensure personal safety and the safety of others.Communicate effectively with press operators, packaging operators, production schedulers and lab technicians to insure efficient production levels with minimal mistakes.Supervision:Maintenance ManagerQualifications/Education/Experience/SkillsMinimum of 1 year manufacturing experienceAbility to read and interpret measurements with dial calipers & micrometers.Ability to understand metric system and how to convert from metric to inch and vice versus Ability to read, analyze, and interpret production schedules, technical procedures and reports. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers, managers and auditors. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions presented in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
