Certified Pharmacy Technician
Job Title: Pharmacy TechnicianJob Description We are seeking experienced Pharmacy Technicians to join our team in the EST Timezone. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for reviewing Prior Authorizations for coverage determination within a large healthcare insurance company's department. Your primary task will be to approve or deny requests and send them for a Pharmacist's final review. This role involves handling all health plans and types of medications, with minimal phone work, primarily outbound calls. Responsibilities + Track coverage determination requests. + Obtain verbal authorizations and request detailed clinical information from prescribers. + Approve requests based on criteria and enter decisions into the PBM system. + Notify providers and members of decision outcomes. + Respond to client inquiries and refer requests for specialty drugs. + Contact providers for additional information. + Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls as needed. Essential Skills + High School diploma or GED. + Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation. + Basic computer skills. + Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. + Experience with Prior Authorization processes. + Excellent data entry and customer service skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification by PTCB or NHA. + Registered Pharmacy Technician license. + Experience in retail pharmacy, hospital, or specialty pharmacy settings. + Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid prescription benefits. + Call center experience. Work Environment This is a professional remote work environment. You will be working with multiple screens and systems, so strong Wi-Fi and a dedicated office space with a closed door are essential. The shift is Monday-Friday, 8am-8pm in your local time zone, with rotating weekends every 4-6 weeks and some holidays. Training will be from 10am-6:30pm EST. After training, regular shifts will be assigned, and schedules are sent three months in advance. You must have a smartphone, and the company will provide necessary equipment such as a computer, monitor, and headset.
