We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our dynamic team. ResponsibilitiesReviewing consent formsAssisting the physician in completing examinations and proceduresPreparing surgical trays for proceduresEnsuring all medications are drawn up as neededProviding wound care and suture removal instructions to patientsProviding patient education and administering medications as orderedEnsuring patient follow-up phone calls are made regarding path/lab results and other necessary treatmentsDocumenting all laboratory or pathology results in patients’ recordsCleaning medical instruments and equipmentStocking exam rooms with suppliesReturning patient phone callsEssential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant or Registered Medical Assistant1-3 years of Medical Assisting experienceCompliance with OSHA standards regarding PPE (gowns, gloves, safety goggles) when performing surgical procedures and other general patient careAdditional Skills & QualificationsDermatology or surgical experience preferredExperience in a fast-paced specialty such as OBGYN, Orthopedics, Surgery, or DermatologyMedical Assistant experience with dermatology or surgical experience is idealWork Environment

The position requires flexibility to occasionally help in Newport News in case of staff call-outs. We operate from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Thursday, and close at 4:00 PM on Fridays. There are no major holidays or weekend shifts. The standard work hours are from 7:15 AM to 4:30 PM.
