Certified Coder
Community Medical and Dental Care, located in Rockland County, NY, is seeking a full-time, experienced Certified Coder. The Coder will work directly with the insurance company, healthcare provider, and patient to get claims processed and paid. RESPONSIBILITIES: + Check encounters versus appointments scheduled and review encounters versus progress notes + Bill encounters + All unbillable encounters should be coordinated through the Billing Manager to obtain missing information + Rebill denials with a focus on collections + Perform A/R collection function + Verify insurance coverage and makes any necessary corrections in Allscripts + Identify missing encounter forms as well as missing information which includes missing ICD9 and CPT codes + Run daily reconciliation report of unbilled encounters + Check the laboratory for the proper billing of encounters. + Answer any billing questions from patients, registrars, or receptionists. + Other special projects regarding billing, posting & collections (Ex. Medicare, Medicaid, recoupments, any past posted corrections, etc.) REQUIREMENTS: + Strong knowledge of CPT and ICD10 codes + Must be accurate, self-motivated and goal-oriented + Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure + Excellent problem-solving skills + Must have an excellent worth ethic + Must maintain confidentiality regarding patient account status and the financial affairs of the office + 3-5 years of coding experience SALARY/BENEFITS: + Competitive compensation + Benefits package + Paid vacation/holidays + Opportunities for growth  Please note that this is not a remote position.
