Our Modifications & Upgrades (MAU) Team plays a vital role in extending the life of in-service aircraft interiors by implementing cutting-edge modifications to commercial seating, cabin attendant seating, galleys, and more. We’re looking for a Senior Flammability Engineer to bring expertise in aircraft interiors flammability requirements and certification. In this role, you’ll lead compliance efforts for TSOA seats and related furniture, ensuring that our modifications meet federal and industry safety standards. What You Will Do + Lead flammability compliance efforts for commercial seating modifications. + Conduct testing, analysis, and design reviews to meet regulatory requirements (14 CFR 25.853, 14 CFR 25.869, Heat Release SCs, etc.). + Develop and validate compliance plans and documentation for TSO, PMA, and STC approvals. + Oversee flammability testing (e.g., Bunsen burner, oil burner, OSU heat release/smoke density per 14 CFR 25 App F). + Evaluate projects for feasibility, cost, and lead time. + Provide technical leadership while collaborating across multi-functional teams. + Mentor and train team members to foster innovation and continuous improvement. Qualifications you Must have: + This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Civil Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree and 3 years in the appropriate discipline. The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
