The Central Scheduler provides scheduling services for inpatient, outpatient and diagnostic testing procedures. Works with related ancillary and surgical departments in scheduling and availability monitoring. Communicates and coordinates with related service lines to ensure continuity of patient care.
Post-secondary education in healthcare related discipline is preferred. One (1) year of hospital/medical office scheduling experience and understanding of medical terminology is strongly preferred. Must be able to access needed follow-through on scheduling changes and updates as related to procedures and/or diagnostic testing. Must demonstrate ability to develop and maintain strong interdepartmental working relationships with the Medical Staff, Department Leaders, and Hospital Staff throughout the facility. Must exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills throughout patient and family populations the facility serves. Must be capable of working independently and autonomously. Position requires working knowledge of computer systems including Microsoft Excel and scheduling software.
