The Central Billing Associate is responsible for securing revenue by verifying and posting receipts daily and resolving discrepancies. This position also maintains records of invoices, debit, and credits and oversees the tracking of all claims.
This is not a remote or hybrid position.
How you will make an impact:
Review claims for coding and billing accuracy. Performs Insurance follow-up and collections of accountsAdheres to department guidance on account documentation note structure and content to provide all stakeholders with actions taken and next steps for accounts receivable managementReview billing of charges to Medicare Traditional, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, Railroad Retirement and commercial third party payers and ensure that claims are submitted according to insurance regulations and guidelines of each state where Medical Centers are locatedPossess knowledge of Medicare, Medical Assistance and other 3rd Party Payer billing instructions, and procedures according to regulations and guidelines Review correspondence received from insurance companies and resolve matters pertaining to previously processed payments or denials. Initiates appeals, correct claims submissions, or submits medical records in response to payer requests for information or claims denialsPerforms appropriate subsequent billing when resolving accountsResearch Insurance overpayment and credit balances utilizing appropriate payment, write-off codes and refunds. Operates effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrates eagerness to learn and assume responsibility; displays a "can do" approach to work; shows flexibility in response to process change and adapts to and accommodates new methods and procedures; accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through appropriatelyProtects the organization’s value by keeping information confidentialRespond to CMS inquiries within specified deadlines. ResponsibleKeep abreast of insurance guidelines and licensure regulations. Develop effective working relationships with Medical Center operations, Coding and Corporate Compliance.Compensation:
Commensurate with experience starting at $24.00/hour

1-2 years of healthcare accounts receivable experience in billing, collections, or related experience requiredCPC-a or CPC preferredDemonstrated Knowledge:
