Job Summary
The College of Business is seeking a Center for Advancing Financial Education ( CAFE ) Program Manager. This is a full-time (1.00 FTE ), 12-month, professional faculty position.
The position reports to the Director of CAFE . The position is to be Corvallis-based to support the management of campus-wide financial literacy initiatives programming (such as OSU’s Financial Readiness and Success program). To this end, the position will work with central units, such as the Office of Financial Aid. This position will also manage day-to-day in-person management of student workers, CAFÉ office spaces and processes. This position will be expected to deliver or coordinate delivery of presentations and workshops. This position will supervise 10-15 student workers (peer mentors).

Key Responsibilities
75% Program Management & Delivery
+ Supports the management of programming related to campus-wide financial literacy initiatives, with a focus on prioritizing equity and inclusivity to address the diverse financial literacy needs of underrepresented and underserved student populations.
+ Supports and develops external partnerships to promote student financial wellness and equitable access to financial education
+ Participates in campus-wide committees and collaborates with other programs and departments, providing a meaningful voice in student wellness initiatives
+ Coordinates delivery of financial literacy programming to incoming students and their families/supporters.
+ Supports the development of curriculum and delivery of financial literacy programming to external audiences, tailoring programmatic elements based on cultural relevance and the unique needs of the population.
+ Manages CAFE’s day-to-day Corvallis operations and processes
+ Collaborates with the director of CAFE in planning programs that contribute to the program’s mission.
+ Coordinates with the College of Business Marketing and Communications to create collateral for CAFE initiatives.
25% Supervision
+ Supervises CAFE student employees (peer mentors) including hiring/firing, planning, assigning, approving work, and administering discipline as needed.
+ Trains student employees on financial literacy topics, effective one-on-one conversations, and presentation/workshop development.
+ Provides culturally competent mentorship to student employees, nurturing their professional development and growth and providing constructive feedback on their performance.
+ Ensures equitable supervision practices and fosters an inclusive environment that supports the growth and belonging of all student employees.
What You Will Need
+ Master’s degree in Business, Public Health, Education, College Student Services and Administration, or a closely related field.
+ Strong understanding of and experience delivering college financial literacy topics, including financial aid, scholarships, and budgeting, and foundational knowledge of additional financial literacy topics such as credit/debt management, taxes, salary negotiation, benefits, risk management, and investing.
+ Proven ability to manage projects from start to finish, including defining scope, identifying risks, creating mitigation strategies, setting timelines, managing resources, and ensuring on-time delivery.
+ Ability to make both strategic and tactical decisions, balancing long-term goals with daily operational management and ensuring alignment between vision and implementation.
+ Skilled in distilling and communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences in relatable, accessible, and memorable ways.
+ Experience building and maintaining effective relationships across departments or units, including the ability to foster collaboration and align goals to achieve shared outcomes.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You to Have
+ Previous experience working in Financial Aid
+ Financial wellness-related certification(s) such as CFP , AFC , etc.
+ Previous experience developing curriculum related to personal finance
+ Previous experience supervising and mentoring student employees
+ Experience with or training in one-on-one coaching and related techniques
Working Conditions / Work Schedule
+ The incumbent is responsible for maintaining a flexible work schedule.
+ Some evening and weekend work is required.
