Cares for patients during Cardiac Cath Lab procedures which include, but are not limited to, coronary angiography, PTCA, stents, pediatric and adult heart catheterizations, peripheral PTA, EPS, Ablation, PPM, ICD, Valvuloplasty, and laser procedures
Maintains readiness of equipment in procedure rooms. Acquires supplies needed for procedures and passes to physician or assistant maintaining sterile technique. Assists in maintaining inventory control. Transports patients to and from procedure rooms. May apply manual pressure to puncture site to obtain hemostasis following procedure.Serves in a charge/leadership role based on skill and unit needs. When assigned charge, makes patient assignments; triages patients; and problem solves with staff, physicians, patients, families, and ancillary departments.Assists in quality control.Takes assigned call as defined in unit specific policy manual.Assists with patient care duties/tasks (i.e., emptying drainage devices, ambulating, and hygiene).Assists with clerical duties (i.e., maintenance of chart, patient record, and answering phones and call lights).Provides orientation/education for staff, students, and other hospital and community organizations as requested.Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion
