We are seeking an experienced Category Marketing Specialist to join our dynamic Bunnings team.


About the Role

Joining a newly created team in Marketing, the Category Marketing Specialist will assist with the translation of insights and category strategies into compelling and engaging go-to-market campaigns that reach the target category audiences. This includes developing multichannel marketing plans for key category campaigns, as well as executing tactical marketing activities that support the growth of the business. 

What’s involved

As the Category Marketing Specialist you will:

Work closely with the Strategy and Planning Managers to ensure the category is represented within key campaigns and seasonal eventsApply customer and category insights and research to guide marketing campaigns and inspire highly effective creative work.Understand the category marketing strategy and target audiences and be able to articulate this to the Merchandising and internal Marketing teams as part of campaign briefingsCo-ordinate and produce category marketing campaigns across ATL and BTL channels, including eDM’s, social media, SEM and more.Help brief and plan content across digital channels to drive category awareness.Support the delivery of activity on the calendars through briefing and trafficking any asset creation required.Participate in monthly reviews of the content, direct marketing and social calendars ensuring the calendars are accurate.Help support the development of advertising material for store openings, refits and instore events.Provide any category-level marketing support for sponsorship activities and campaign integration with key internal and external stakeholders.


Who we are looking for

You enjoy working in a collaborative, outcome-driven, fast-paced environment where you will be supported in your work and learning. Your exceptional attention to detail, time management skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, coupled with your organisational skills, will see you succeed in this role.

You possess exceptional stakeholder management skills, are a creative and strong communicator (both verbally and written) who is passionate about meeting the segment’s needs.

You will also have:

Five+ years' experience in marketing or a related business unit role.General understanding of ATL and BTL marketing channels, particularly Digital channels such as Social Media and SEMAn understanding of outputs from customer research and insightsAn understanding of product briefing process and of legal & compliance requirements for advertisingSponsorship and event activation experienceWebsite and email content updates and integration experienceDegree in Marketing, Business Development or relevant studies at Tertiary Level
