Position Overview The Category Manager will lead IT procurement for hardware, software, and consulting, developing strategies, driving cost reductions, managing suppliers, and negotiating agreements. They will ensure alignment with organizational goals and market trends, working within their specific field of responsibility. Key activities include strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost reduction, and performance management. The role involves coordinating global procurement strategies across North America, Europe, and South America for Volkswagen and TRATON brands. Emphasis will be on innovation, sustainability, process optimization, strategy alignment, and facilitating top management meetings Responsibilities • Strategic Sourcing: Developing and implementing effective sourcing strategies to meet organizational goals. • Supplier Management: Building and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure high performance. • Cost Reduction: Identifying and executing opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. • Contract Negotiation: Securing favorable terms and conditions through effective contract negotiations. • Global Coordination: Aligning procurement strategies across different regions and business units. • Innovation and Sustainability: Driving initiatives that promote innovation and sustainability within the procurement process. • Performance Management: Monitoring and managing supplier performance to ensure compliance with standards and contractual obligations. Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree At least 2 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience OR Master's degree At least 1 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience OR At least 5 years of supply chain, engineering or manufacturing experience Additional Requirements Qualified candidates, excluding current employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States.
