Reporting to the Head of Category Analytics, the Category Analytics Expert – R&D is part of the Insights & Productivity team and plays a critical role in driving data-driven decision-making for R&D Procurement. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, category management expertise, and a deep understanding of procurement processes related to R&D.
Main Responsibilities:
Primary Liaison & Collaboration: Act as the main point of contact for R&D Procurement, ensuring seamless communication between Procurement Front Office teams, category analytics experts, and business units. Align on category and sourcing strategies to support Sanofi’s innovation goals.
Project & Sourcing Service Management: Oversee procurement analytics projects, ensuring timely delivery of insights that enhance sourcing service performance. Work closely with the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) team to maintain high-quality service delivery.
Insights & Reporting: As part of the Insights & Productivity team, develop data-driven insights to optimize R&D Procurement. Analyse spending trends, supplier performance, and cost drivers, providing actionable recommendations. Deliver category-specific reports and support stakeholders with meaningful analytics.
Innovation & Automation: Drive Proof-of-Concept (PoC) initiatives using AI and machine learning to enhance procurement analytics. Identify opportunities for automation and advanced analytics to improve decision-making and efficiency.
About You:
Experience: Demonstrated project management experience, with a strong ability to manage cross-functional global initiatives. Proven experience in procurement, category management, or data analytics, with a specific focus on R&D Procurement in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Strong background in analysing R&D procurement categories, such as clinical trials, lab services, contract research organizations (CROs), and scientific suppliers. Proficiency in working with diverse global teams and effectively managing stakeholder relationships.
Soft Skills & Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capability to translate complex procurement data into actionable insights. Hands-on experience with data analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Snowflake, SQL, or similar platforms).
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, Data Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field.
Languages: Fluent English (spoken and written).
