Catastrophe Risk Analyst

What the day will look like
Primary role is to provide catastrophe modelling support across projects.
+ Work with other team members assigned to a client (brokers, actuaries, Rating Agency and others)
+ Provide meaningful analysis; explain standard analyses with professional written and verbal communication
+ Provide real-time loss estimates of actual catastrophic events in Latin America.
+ Further develop understanding of (re)insurance terminology
+ Types of reinsurance products, business applications of reinsurance, why clients utilize reinsurance
+ How terms and conditions impact modelling output
+ Types of construction, occupancy, secondary modifiers and other location details that impact modelled results
+ Prepare client-ready presentations

Skills and experience that will lead to success
• Minimum Education required: Degree in the field of Actuarial, Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related degree.
• Advanced user of Excel, Access and PowerPoint
•SQL knowledge preferred but not required
•Bilingual English/Portuguese required
•Take ownership and responsibility of tasks, be driven independently and proactively
•Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate well with others externally and internally. Well-rounded communication skills and prior experience interfacing with clients and senior stakeholders.
•Strong organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple assignments, work well with minimal supervision, and meet deadlines.
