JOB SUMMARY:
Welcomes and seats guests and receives andrecords payment of restaurant guest checks.
KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:
Greetsrestaurant guests in a friendly and courteous manner.
Arrangesfor prompt seating of guests in order of arrival or availability of seatingaccommodations.
Quotesaccurate waiting times, and seats guests when tables are available.
Assistsin identifying casino comps, hotel and VIP guests for seating; communicateswith comp authorizer (signer) regarding any comp charges by the compee.
Maintainscleanliness of menus.
Familiarizesself with hotel/casino so that accurate directions can be given to guests whoinquire.
Acceptsresponsibility for cash register bankroll, all cash received, charge card andcomplimentary receipts.
Maintainsthe appropriate supplies needed for the proper performance of duties.
Preparesmultiple reports.
Respondsto telephone calls.
Usescomputerized cash register.
Records and pays out tips to Wait Staff when the tipsare charged to credit cards and guest rooms.
Qualifications:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School graduate or equivalent preferred
Previous experience as a cashier and/or host preferred
Previous experience with accounting or heavy math preferred
QUALIFICATIONS:
Literate and fluent in English
Above average communication and guest service skills
Accuracy in the handling of money
Legible handwriting
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business

Finger dexterity to use a computerized cash register
Ability to use repetitive motion
Ability to grasp, hold, reach, bend, squat, push-pull, occasional use of a step stool, have hand-eye coordination
Ability to constantly walk and stand during shift
Mobility to move quickly and easily throughout the restaurant and kitchen areas
Ability to hear and seePositions that have contact with the public require the ability to work in a noisy
environment, and may be exposed to guests who use tobacco products. Also, non-public contact positions may be required to enter public areas from time to time, in connection with their duties, and may be subject to the same environment.
