Summary About the position: This position will be assigned to the Seymo Joe Coffee Kiosk/Compass Cafe. Will be responsible for selling a variety of merchandise such as coffee and pre-made food items such as cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Operates cash register, rings up sales, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sales, or changes to member's account. This is a Flexible position. Hours range from 0-40 hours per week depending on the needs of the facility. Responsibilities Will be responsible for selling a variety of merchandise such as coffee and pre-made food items such as cookies, muffins, pastries, etc. Operates cash register, rings up sales, receives money and makes change, processes credit card sales, or charges to member's account. At the end of each shift clears the cash register, and turns over cash and supporting documents as instructed. Conducts daily inventories. Maintains area in clean and orderly condition. Provides a consistent environment and experience for customers by crafting coffee beverages correctly and consistently. In a Food Activity: Performs check-out duties such as ringing up food, beverages and merchandise by individual item; totaling sales; processing credit card sales; receiving money; and making change. performs related food service duties such as assisting in setting up the serving line replenishing beverage dispensers, ensuring kitchen staff is advised. Prepare a limited variety of hot & cold beverages such as cappuccinos, brewed coffees, lattes, espressos, hot chocolate, etc...by selecting proper ingredients. Serves food and beverages. Qualifying Experience: Must be able to follow simple written and oral instructions, be able to use hand tools for cleaning, and operate simple machines. Must be skilled in doing tasks with several steps and must use judgement in sequencing tasks. Must have knowledge of sanitation standards in handling and serving food, cleaning equipment and work area. Must be physically able to frequently lift or move objects weighing up to 40 pounds. May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty (evenings, weekends, and holidays). Must be able to read, speak, and understand the English language well. Must be able to follow simple recipe cards. Must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service skills. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical. Must be able to successfully complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Prior experience in coffee crafting, cash handling, and customer service. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position. U.S. Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. Territory for three (3) or more consecutive years immediately preceding the start of Federal Affiliation or a signed memorandum indicating the installation's decision on the 3-year residency requirement.
