I. Major Responsibilities:
1. Uses assigned work queues and prioritization standards and guidelines, performs cash application functions.
2. Posts cash manually and prepares remittance information received via the lockbox for posting.
3. Posts electronic payment batches ensuring balancing and reconciliation processes are followed.
4. Performs responsibilities related to remittance processing, including reviewing bank statements, and preparing remittance batch header forms, and accessing payer websites to obtain remittance detail.
5. Demonstrates competence in performing reconciliation responsibilities, including reconciling the lockbox, bank statements, 835 payer payment files, as well as identifying payments belonging to other UMMHC entities.
6. Maintains appropriate documentation to be shared with UMMHC Treasury department.
7. Follows established protocols to identify payments that are posted directly to the GL.
8. Troubleshoots missing 835 files with payer or remittance processing third party.
9. Follows up directly with payers to research unidentified payments.
10. Prepares and delivers bank deposits.
11. Performs cashiering duties, including accepting guarantor payments and other cash payments at the main hospital locations. Reconciles cash drawer.
12. Balances credit card machines, balance bank accounts.
13. Transfers and repost payments as appropriate ensuring adequate audit trail processes are adhered to.
14. Meets established productivity standards.
15. Facilitates and promotes the sharing of knowledge and content throughout departments.
16. Adheres to change control processes.
17. Participates in cross training to optimize resources.
18. Demonstrates excellent attendance and actively participates in a variety of meetings and training sessions as required.
19. Maintains and fosters an organized, clean, and safe work environment.
20. Contributes to the development and application of process improvements.
21. Maintains a collaborative, team relationship with peers and colleagues in order to effectively contribute to the group’s achievement of goals and to help foster a positive work environment.
22. Practices cost containment and fiscal responsibility through the efficient use of supplies, equipment, time, etc.
