POSITION SUMMARY:

HOPE provides transitional housing and support services to survivors of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, Stalking, and Trafficking in Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties.  The Case Manager is responsible for victim services, including case management, advocacy, and crisis-intervention for victims and survivors residing in the HOPE apartments.  The Case Manager reports directly to the Program Director.

Job Type/Status: Full-Time

Responsibilities:

The Case Manager (CM) will coordinate childcare assistance and maintain weekly contact with each client. This position will assist clients in setting realistic short and long-term goals and evaluating progress towards those goals. Individual case management meetings will focus on safety planning, helping clients secure and maintain permanent housing, and helping clients attain their education and employment goals. The CM will assist clients in applying for various assistance programs and make referrals to other community resources, as needed and will conduct or coordinate educational seminars to help clients acquire life skills needed to become self-sufficient, such as resume building, parenting, nutrition, organization skills, and time management.


Duties:

Accept referrals through safe house and other service providers.

Interview potential HOPE clients

Provide 6-24 months of housing

Conduct assessments, identifying needs, housing stability plan, budget plan & set goals - service plan.

Assist with job search, housing, education - PIT, safety planning, career opportunities

Conduct meetings, seminars, & trainings

Individual & group counseling

Attend PIT workshops and all trainings

Maintain files 

Complete reports as required 

Complete all grant requirements

Accompaniment services

Assist with transportation and securing childcare

Identify safety concerns & review safety precautions

Maintain security & surveillance equipment

Assist with on call rotation 

Duties related to the success of the program including office duties including hotel/housing


REQUIREMENTS: 

The Case Manager must successfully complete the 60 hour New Jersey State Confidential Sexual Violence Advocacy Training and Domestic Violence Response Team training provided by Services Empowering Rights of Victims (SERV).  The Case Manager must have experience working with people, especially on a one-to-one basis, and demonstrated sensitivity toward the needs of victims.  Effective verbal and written communication skills and public speaking is required.  A Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or Human Services related field is mandatory.  Work experience may substitute for education on a year-to-year basis.
