Job Description
Provides support to the physician performing invasive cardiovascular procedures such as Coronary Angiograms, Angioplasty and Stents. Integrates well with Physicians and Nurses and has responsibility for Emergency Call.
Job Responsibility
1. Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for cardiovascular procedures.
2. Prepares sterile field for invasive procedures.
+ Ensures all instrumentation/equipment for each procedure is presented on the table in the established fashion.
1. Prepares patient for invasive procedures.
2. Enters patient, procedure and equipment into computer system.
+ Ensures patients are correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion.
+ Responds to patient's questions alleviating concerns regarding procedure.
1. Performs various duties during procedure.
2. Monitors patient hemodynamic status during procedure, including electrocardiogram, Blood pressure, chest pain.
+ Collects all pertinent data and all necessary calculations for physician's interpretation of results.
+ Balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data.
1. Intervenes in cardiopulmonary emergencies.
2. Operates equipment properly in a reliable manner, per departmental standards, complying with all safety guidelines/policies.
3. Retrieves and provides Physician's equipment required for procedure using aseptic technique and ensuring maintenance of the sterile field.
4. Performs related duties, as required.
Job Qualification
+ New York State Department of Health licensure as a Radiologic Technologist required and American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registered Technologist (R.T.)
OR
+ Graduate of Cardiorespiratory Science Program Required.
+ Certified Basic Life Support (BLS), required. Certified Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), preferred.
+ Knowledge of EKG rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic pressure, preferred.
+ Two years of cardiac catheterization experience or interventional neurology, or interventional radiology required.

The salary range for this position is $47.29-$62.49/hour
