Job Description:

Inspection authority for capital projects and construction.  Responsible for inspection activities and decision making related to new construction and turnaround capital projects.    Ensure all inspection requirements are met throughout the engineering, fabrication, construction, and commissioning process.

What will be expected from you?

Inspection department liaison to capital project associates.Point person for review of drawings, testing requirements and interpretations regarding all applicable codes and specifications.Responsible for creation of Inspection and Testing Requirements Sheet (ITRS) for capital projects.Coordination with project managers and engineers to ensure inspection scopes and cost are properly estimated into capital projects.Perform quality assurance review of contractor packages to ensure acceptance standards are met before input of data into ASINT and mechanical integrity records.Participate in vendor quality assessments prior to the awarding of capital fabrication work.Coordinate required inspection steps on turnaround with the responsible unit inspector and the turnaround team to ensure coverage as well as prevent redundancy.Facilitate inspection and assessment of new fabrication shops as technical pre-qualification and alignment to Indorama standards and specifications.Provide fixed equipment consults for new projects.Attend meetings to support capital engineering team for projects.Final signature authority for NDE associated with shop fabrication and field installation for capital projects.Perform quality assurance of offsite shop inspections related to new construction.Review and approval of welding procedures and welder qualifications.Monitoring welding parameters on capital shop and field fabrication.Quality assurance on paint and insulation for capital projects.Participate in all new capital project Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR) prior to commissioning of assets.Assist capital project engineers in project closeout including filing documentation, SAP updates, and completion of MOC process.Ensure that activities are carried out to comply with the integrated management system, as applicable (safety, food safety, GMP, health, environmental, quality, and responsible care requirements).Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.Assists other employees in accomplishments of Indorama company goals.  Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company.  Participates in and completes company required training programs.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

Required – HS Diploma and 10 years of related experience or Associate Degree (Technical) and 5 years of related experience.Must have certification in one or more of the following: API 510 Pressure Vessels, API 570 Piping Inspection and Repair. Training or familiarity with API 580 Risk Based Inspection is preferred. API 653 Storage Tank Inspection and Repair, CWI and NACE are a plus.Must have a level of proficiency with SAP, Internet, Email and Microsoft Office programs.
