Capital Project Manager II
About Us T. Overview Initiates and executes mid-to large-size capital projects that improve plant operations, increase capacity, and maximize productivity at the lowest operating cost. Responsibilities Manages multiple projects at two or more sites at the same time from initiation through execution. Project durations are typically 6-24 months with values up to $10MM. Coordinates internally with cross-functional teams and manufacturing personnel, and externally with suppliers and consultants. Prepares costs estimates and calculates the return on investment; presents capital projects to senior management for approval. Leads the development of project requirements by understanding design standards, customer requirements, and performance standards. Provides on-site supervision of contractors and oversees compliance with all safety and food safety program requirements. Communicates project status, reviews and recommendations through all layers of leadership, up to and including the Chief Executive Officer. Reviews and recommends changes to plant layout to optimize flow for new and replacement equipment. Compiles and submits information for all required department/corporate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports. Qualifications BS degree in engineering or a technical field is required, preferably in industrial, chemical or mechanical engineering Minimum of 5 years of prior experience in capital project management Experience using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office software is required. Prior experience in a design, maintenance, process improvement, or manufacturing role is preferred. CPG, nutritional, or food processing experience is preferred. Experience with continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma – Green belt or Black belt is preferred. Understanding of automation systems and controls integration is preferred. Working Conditions/Environment Works in a normal office environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, see, hear, sit, stand, talk, type, walk and bend while moving about the facility. Frequent (25-50%) travel to plant locations in the U.S., as well as vendor locations globally. The noise level in the office is quiet.
