Job Description Summary

Cushman & Wakefield’s Equity, Debt, and Structured Finance group (“C&W EDSF”) is a premier Capital Markets team providing solutions for complex transactions on behalf of institutional, corporate, and private investment clients offering a range of debt advisory services including construction, bridge, agency and permanent financing throughout the capital stack including first mortgages, B-notes, mezzanine financings and preferred equity.

Position Summary
The Capital Markets Financial Analyst (“CMFA”) supports transactions generated by the C&W EDSF team including debt/equity financings for portfolios, joint ventures, loan sales, and institutional-quality asset sales. The C&W EDSF team is focused all on all property types including, but not limited to, multifamily, office, industrial, retail, data center, condominiums, etc... Additionally, the CMFA role supports the Multifamily EDSF Broker for the Agency Multifamily Platform, working collaboratively with the Multifamily Investment Sales Team. The CMFA is primarily performing financial analysis activities related to Excel valuation model creation, Argus Enterprise model creation and auditing, lease abstraction, due diligence collection and review, and will be responsible for translating analysis findings into high-level summaries for our Capital Market brokers, investors and lenders.

The role is based in Washington D.C. and requires availability to work on-site in a local Cushman & Wakefield office. Team members may be expected to travel and work outside normal operating hours to meet project deadlines.

Job Description

Essential Duties

Prepare debt and/or equity offering memoranda for commercial real estate transactions, including gathering client and property information, section write-ups, creating tables, graphs and charts, and managing the graphic design process in conjunction with a graphic designerAnalyze and evaluate rent rolls and operating statements of properties being considered for financing or sale to determine feasibility and valuationPrepare pro forma statements and projections which accurately reflect past history of properties, as well as current and projected future market conditionsPrepare financial models in Excel and Argus for clients which outline valuation and pricing structuresPrepare discounted cash flow analysesResearch, analyze, and evaluate market feasibility for various real estate transactionsPrepare debt sizings to determine possible financing options for each dealAssist in collecting and evaluating required due diligence for transactions. Make necessary inquiries to clients to ensure that required information is provided timelyUnderstand and review real estate documents (leases, operating statements, rent rolls, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) to determine if any issues/inconsistencies existConvey all particulars of a transaction (financial projections, market and location issues and tenant analysis, etc.) in formal written format for financing packages and/or sales offering materials presented to clients, lenders and investorsGenerate weekly reports and updates to EDSF Team on calling program status and loan quote gridsCollect lender/investor bids and maintain quote matrix, lender listsParticipate in marketing callsContact and respond to lender requests/questionsAssist in conducting property tours / inspectionsOther duties as assigned

Other Requirements & Administrative Duties

Bachelor’s Degree (Business, Finance, Real Estate, etc.) preferred  Combination of education without a degree and corporate work experience may be considered 0 to 2 years of commercial real estate financial analysis and/or finance experience preferably with a commercial real estate firm engaged in consulting, appraisal, investing, lending, or brokerage, Capital Markets experience a plusStrong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Ability to construct, apply and analyze complex financial models in Excel and Argus Enterprise preferredStrong written communication skills developing high-level analysis summariesSelf-motivated, team-oriented, and strong time management skills to prioritize deadlinesAbility to function in a team-oriented setting while working independently with limited day-to-day supervisionStrong time management, organization, and interpersonal skillsAbility to handle multiple projects at one time and work in a high-volume, fast past transaction-oriented environmentGrowth oriented mindset, desire to learn and shares knowledge to help others succeedAbility to maintain attention to detail while working under tight deadlinesHighly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; advance Excel skills preferredArgus Enterprise experience is a plusAbility and willingness to travel and work extended hours, including some weekends as needed

The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.


The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.


The compensation for the position is: $65,450.00 - $77,000.00
