Capital Accountant
**Change the world. Love your job.** Texas Instruments is looking for a detail and results oriented individual to fill a Capital Accountant to join our Finance team in Malaysia. As a Capital Accountant, you will be involved in managing and maintain the accuracy of our fixed asset records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls as required within the team. This role is essential for supporting financial reporting and tracking of the company's capital assets in a fast-paced semiconductor manufacturing environment as required within the team. **Responsibilities include:** + **Fixed Asset Management:** Maintain and update the fixed asset register for all capital expenditures and projects, ensuring compliance with TI's accounting policies and applicable standards (e.g., MFRS, IFRS). + **Asset Capitalization:** Review and ensure the timely and accurate capitalization of fixed assets upon project completion. + **Depreciation:** Calculate and record monthly depreciation of fixed assets, ensuring proper allocation of costs in line with accounting standards. + **Reconciliation:** Perform regular reconciliations of the fixed asset ledger with the general ledger, addressing discrepancies and ensuring data integrity. + **Asset Audits:** Assist with periodic physical inventories and asset audits, managing the timely disposal and write-off of assets as needed. + **Manual Journal Entries:** Prepare manual journals related to fixed asset activities, ensuring they are properly documented and supported. + **Reporting:** Prepare and review reports for management on capital projects and fixed asset portfolios. Support monthly/quarterly/year-end close processes, including Balance Sheet and P&L Flux analysis. + **Audit Support:** Provide support during audits, ensuring all fixed asset-related documentation is accurate and compliant. + **Compliance & Controls:** Ensure adherence to TI's policies and procedures, internal controls, and regulatory requirements (e.g., MFRS, IFRS). Support strengthening of financial processes and controls. + **Cross-functional Collaboration:** Work closely with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to ensure accurate tracking of capital expenditures and project costs. + **Continuous Improvement:** Identify opportunities for process improvements in fixed asset management, reporting, and systems, and implement necessary changes to enhance efficiency. + **Projects:** Contribute to projects. Support knowledge transfers and execute processes for projects, ensuring smooth transitions and regulatory compliance. **Also include:** + Support statutory audit, internal audit and SOX Compliance + Ensure robust controls for transaction processing, accounting process and close activities, and compliance reporting + Preparation of corporate tax compliance and indirect tax documentations + Vendor payment compliance – Statutory and TI Policies + Liaison with the other TI sites for best practice sharing and process improvements + Implement new processes to improve efficiencies tracking and reporting capital assets + Automate, enhance & document processes where necessary **Why TI?** + Engineer your future.
