Hexcel is looking for a CAMS Tooler for their Kent, WA location. You will be responsible for precision measurement, alignment, and inspection of tooling and large-scale components using advanced laser tracker technology. This role is critical in ensuring manufacturing accuracy, quality control, and compliance with engineering specifications. The ideal candidate has a strong background in metrology principles, GD&T, and tooling processes. They will collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to maintain high standards in CAMS and Tooling. The CAMS Tooler will operate laser tracker systems and model-based metrology software to verify tool accuracy and establish measurement reference systems and support the manufacturing process. This role requires technical expertise in reading and interpreting model-based definition (MBD), blueprints, performing detailed data analysis and reports, and cross-functional collaboration to optimize production efficiency and quality.
 

Summary pay range:  $34.75 – $43.44 hourly wage rate.
 

The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:

Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret GD&T specifications.Data Collection & Analysis: Capture accurate measurements using laser trackers and analyze data for reports when compared to MBD.Reference System Establishment: Establish accurate alignment and positioning of parts and tools.Process Integration: Provide real time measurement feedback to Support tooling, engineering, and assembly operations.Environmental Considerations: Set up inspection programs toaccount for thermal expansion, material shrinkage, and fabrication tolerances.Quality Assurance: Ensure all manufactured components meet customer and strict quality and compliance standards.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with engineers, quality, and assembly teams to troubleshoot and resolve measurement discrepancies and noncompliance issues.Safety and Compliance: Maintain adherence to company safety, quality policies and procedures while ensuring customer -focused approach problem-solving and service delivery.
 

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent, required, technical schooling highly preferred.3+ years of experience with laser tracker systems in a manufacturing or tooling environment.Ability to perform alignments and a solid understanding of Cartesian Coordinate Systems.Able to become proficient with complex measuring tools (Leica Tracker) within a short period of time – demonstrate previous ability to learn new systems.Proficient in Verisurf, and PC-DMIS software or similar metrology software. Preferred expertise with SmarTeam, Enovia DMU, REDARS, or similar software.Strong experience with complex alignments, Best Fits, Datum Alignments.Solid understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, MBD, and manufacturing processes.Hands-on experience with precision measurement tools.Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.The physical demands described here are representative ones you must meet to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. You must be able to move freely around the facility and workstation, stoop, bend, reach, kneel, stand and walk for extended periods of time up to and over 8 hours a day. You must also lift and/or move up to 35 pounds quite frequently.
