Our Academic team will support you and provide feedback and training to make sure you will quickly feel at ease with your new work environment and the EF teaching methodology. Post-probation and with more work experience, there are a wide range of professional development options and career pathways at EF that may arise – on local, national or international levels, not limited to teaching.  What we offer   Hourly rate for teaching based on qualifications and experience  Hourly admin fee for additional related tasks performed Quarterly individual USD bonus based on student course extensions 24/7 access to Microsoft Office applications & a wide range of resources from EF campuses world-wide, as well as other academic subscriptions  Professional development and career options at EF Cape Town: Support, training and feedback by our local management team  Annual performance & salary review (after 1 year at EF) Continuous professional development options (internal & external)  A friendly & international work environment: Centrally located school building in popular Kloof Street with views of Table Mountain  Well-equipped classrooms, staff kitchen & in-house cafeteria The EF Cape Town vibe: invited to join our team & school events with our students Coffee/ tea and staff discount for our cafeteria Birthday voucher  Eligibility for teacher of the month voucher A truly international & diverse workplace – students from more than 40 countries   Role & responsibilities  Teach scheduled teaching hours for general classes  Teach Cambridge exam preparation classes when required  Complete all admin related to Cambridge classes (e.g. marking students homework and providing feedback) Provide high quality classes using our Efekta blended learning programme  Prepare materials and resources relevant to your classes, including a comprehensive syllabus for special interest classes, handouts, quizzes, tests and assignments as needed for each course Complete all required administration to a high standard and in a timely manner Help students with queries they may have and communicate this with the appropriate department  Actively participate in teacher meetings and all staff development activities Actively participate in any required observations and feedback sessions, training, development meetings and informational meetings Develop and use supplementary material within EF guidelines to support learning needs and objectives Liaise, support and collaborate with all staff tasked with providing study feedback and support to student's    Key competencies  Customer orientation Organisation and planning skills Effective communication and relationship building skills Creativity, flexibility Passion and professionalism Strong interpersonal skills Fostering teamwork Cultural diversity competencies  Requirements  South African ID holder or permanent resident  Bachelor’s Degree Cambridge exam skill set and qualification/ course completion 120-hour TEFL Certificate with 1-3 years of teaching experience; CELTA/CertTESOL (preferred)   About EF Education First   At EF we believe that the world is better when people try to understand one another.
