Job Description
Works closely with Designers and Engineers to develop layouts, create, and revise detail drawings of moderate complexity for mechanical and/or electro-mechanical components utilizing CAD and PLM software with minimal supervision.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop layouts, prepare, and revise detail and assembly drawings of moderate complexity.Design relatively simple mechanical and/or electromechanical components.Gather missing information required to complete assignments.Perform work in accordance with standard drafting practices.Understand and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) methods to ensure fit, form, and function.Hand off work to and supervise lower-level drafters.Work according to established policies and standards.Use CAD and PLM software in accordance with drafting standards (Knowledge of Teamcenter/NX required).Create and review mechanical drawings, verifying completed work, checking dimensions, materials, and quantities to be used.Mechanical modeling using NX 12 managed with Teamcenter.Create and revise parametric drawings in conformance with 3D modeling and drawing standards.Supervise and direct the activities of staff as requested.Perform related duties as assigned or required.Essential SkillsExperience with NX modeling software.Solid understanding of GD&T with daily application.Experience with Siemens NX 12 and Teamcenter.Knowledge of standard manufacturing processes including CNC Mill and Lathe operations.Ability to work independently and know when to request information.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.Good time management and organizational skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications2-year Technical Degree in Drafting or Engineering and 10 years of directly related experience or BS in Engineering and 7 years of related experience.GDTP Professional Certification preferred.Experience with weld design per AWS D17.1 and D1.1. AWS CWI certification preferred.Experience working with DoD programs preferred.Working knowledge of Mil-Standard 100.PMI (Product Manufacturing Information) experience is valuable.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
