Job Description
We are looking for a CAD Design Manager who will be responsible for overseeing a team of seven designers in a 3D space. The ideal candidate will act as a day-to-day task manager, resource planner, and supervisor. The primary focus of this role is to manage the team, establish standards, and implement best practices. The tasks include providing schedules, meeting deadlines, establishing workflows, and ensuring all designs are saved according to the process.
ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise a team of seven designers.Plan and allocate resources efficiently.Establish standards and best practices for the design team.Provide schedules and ensure deadlines are met.Establish and maintain efficient workflows.Ensure all designs are saved and documented correctly.Organize tasks in an electronic format and update progress dashboards.Essential Skills5-10 years of experience in CAD management.At least 5 years of experience managing people.Experience with any 3D software (SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.).Knowledge of PDM systems like Vault and experience with Plant 3D and Navisworks.Experience in industrial or metal fabrication.Ability to manage tasks using software like Plano or Smartsheet.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Revit, Plant 3D, Inventor, Advanced Steel, and sheet metal design is a plus.Design and field experience with heavy industrial equipment is highly desirable.Ability to design structural frames and work with structural shapes or structural steel.10+ years of design experience in the industry.Work Environment
The position is fully onsite with the option to work remotely one day a week (Fridays). Design engineers work in an open office environment, while the CAD Design Manager will have their own office nearby. The typical workday is flexible between 7am-4pm or 9am-6pm, with core hours from 9am-4pm. Virtual and onsite interviews will be conducted to assess personality, interest, key skills, and management capabilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
