 POSITION DESCRIPTION:  The Can-Off Employee is responsible to ensure efficient and safe operation of the daily activities in the Can-Off department. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Proper filling of bags, totes, and other containers to the specified weight. Tear down, cleaning and reassembly of equipment. Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Sanitation Operating Procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices. Report any food safety and quality issues/problems to personnel with authority to initiate action. Able to lift up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally.Able and willing to work around moving machinery. Able to stand for 8-12 hours per day.Other tasks as assigned. Willing to comply with all Rose Acre's safety, and employment policies including working in a 100% smoke-free environment. Ability to comply with the strictest standards for animal welfare and to report incidents of abuse, neglect, or breach of bio-security in order to preserve the health and welfare of our birds.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Must be reliable and extremely punctual.Must possess good communication skills – both written and verbal.Must be physically capable of performing the essential functions of the job on a routine basis.Must be capable of quickly addressing issues and responding to emergency situations in a timely and consistent manner.Must be able to lift at least 45 lbs.Capable of working late (if needed) past the scheduled leave time to complete the job.Capable of working weekend shifts and maintaining a flexible schedule (Note: This may include working holidays to ensure that the job is covered.)Possess excellent teamwork skills – as with many jobs this position requires a “team” attitude, and requires that all plant personnel work together to ensure that the job is completed.Must be able to work in a completely smoke free environment.Must have good vision and proper eyeglasses.Must be conform and abide by all Rose Acre bio-security policies, and must report any violation of this policy to upper management immediately. Must conform to and abide by all Rose Acre Good Manufacturing Procedures.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Must possess the ability to work in an agricultural environment, indoors, outdoors, office, warehouse, processing, and farm production areas each varying in temperature, and other environment specific atmospheres.Must be willing and able to work past the scheduled leave time to complete the job, if needed.Must possess the ability to work in an open office setting.Must maintain professionalism with coworkers.
