Program Summary

The C-5M Super Galaxy is a strategic heavy airlift cargo aircraft providing heavy and outsized cargo transit for the United States Air Force (USAF).  The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) C-5M Super Galaxy Division (AFLCMC/WLS) is responsible for the development, procurement, and integration of modernized capabilities and for the sustainment and life cycle management of the aircraft.  The KBR C-5M team provides support to the C-5M Super Galaxy Division, facilitating the development, implementation, and execution of modernization and sustainment activities related to the Reliability, Maintainability, Quality, Supportability, and Interoperability (RMQSI) of the C-5M weapon system.  The KBR C-5M team primarily is co-located with the C-5M Super Galaxy Division at Robins Air Force Base (AFB), Georgia.

Job Summary

The incumbent of this position will function as the key C-5M Program Office specialist responsible for developing and maintaining program and project schedules.   The incumbent will work with multiple C-5M Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) on acquisition, modification, logistics, sustainment and maintenance programs and/or projects, developing schedules for assigned projects and, when necessary, integrating the project schedules into a higher level schedule reflecting program and project interdependencies.  The individual must be capable of operating independently, working with the Logistics, Engineering and Program Management functional teams to assist with the planning, managing, and coordination of C-5M program and project execution.  They will work in highly visible collaboration efforts with System Program Office (SPO), Major Operating Commands (MAJCOMs), field level maintenance personnel, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) personnel in developing, evaluating, implementing and tracking programmatic solutions aimed at increasing C-5M Aircraft Availability objectives.  The incumbent will apply scheduling knowledge to perform various tasks related to planning, development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive, affordable, and effective system modernization and support strategy. 

Roles and Responsibilities

KBR requires a Program Scheduler to support schedule analysis support to USAF aircraft platforms program office, specifically the C-5M Super Galaxy.

This includes assisting the government in developing program and project schedules, integrating multiple schedules, performing schedule risk analysis, building projections of schedule outcomes, and developing reports or presentations.Provide schedule-related support to assigned Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) by attending recurring program meetingsBuild project, program and integrated top-level schedules for use in program reviews and other management briefingsProviding reports to key program stakeholders on schedule health and construction, contractor schedule performance, and projections of schedule outcomesSupport Program Management Reviews (PMRs), design reviews, Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs), and Schedule Risk Assessments (SRAs)Communicate all findings to management through briefings, written reports and verbal communicationWork with cross-functional teams to integrate disparate activities and milestones into schedule modelsEmploy integration, communication, coordination, organizational, and planning expertise to technical and acquisition efforts across a number of functional disciplinesPerform a range of program management activities, such as: gathering program information; conducting analyses; developing program strategies; milestone planning, tracking, and scheduling; establishing and maintaining schedule databases

The incumbent must demonstrate comprehensive experience and knowledge of:

Analyzing and integrating schedules using scheduling software, including MS ProjectsDeveloping schedules for presentations, translating MS Project and other schedule data into more suitable forms for easy visualizationIdentifying major milestones, decision points, project lifecycle and project eventsDeveloping, maintaining, and integrating project plans into project and program schedule modelsAir Force Material Command and Air Force Life Cycle Management Center policies, processes, and procedures

Basic Qualifications

At least 4 years of experience directly related to the positionBachelors Degree in logistics, management, business administration or related field.  Note – Additional experience may be considered sufficient to satisfy the degree requirementExperience in DoD or USAF organizations creating schedules for acquisition and logistics/maintenance functionsDemonstrated competence with Microsoft Project, Powerpoint, Excel and WordKnowledge of current USAF acquisition processes, milestones, policies and proceduresUnderstanding of interrelationships between acquisition activities, program documentation and program milestonesExperience supporting DoD ACAT I/II/III acquisition programsCandidate must possess the ability to work well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.Ability to travel out of local area 5-10% of calendar year if needed.Must possess a Secret security clearance or higherMust be a US citizen

Preferred Qualifications

At least 7 years of experience directly related to the position5-10 years experience in USAF and/or DoD organizations while performing acquisition and sustainment support activitiesExperience with commercial scheduling tools/methods other than MS ProjectExperience with Microsoft PowerBIUSAF program office experienceRelevant DAWIA certificationsExperience at multiple Air Force or DoD centers and geographic locations
