Job Description

Hybrid This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to the Cole Engineering Center Tower, Warren MI three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business

Responsibilities:

Proactively looking for full deck comprehension (APV, suppliers, contracts, cost drivers, process and BOT)

Proactively analyzing supplier claims with support from VCE and CTLs/Supervisors

Handles routine job assignments and work with normal training and instruction

Has sense of priority and awareness of current requests to solve daily problems

Proactively looking for cost reductions opportunities and threat mitigation

Build relationship with internal and external stakeholders(Suppliers)

Actively contributes in team discussions

Proactively volunteers for projects

Identifies continuous improvement opportunities in their own area of control

Develops innovative ideas to support CT strategy

Bring new technologies and alternative suppliers to support CT Strategy

Build read across, benchmarking and value stream map

Self identifies and selects learning opportunities

This job is not eligible for relocation benefits. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

2+ years relevant post-graduate work experience in purchasing, supply chain, program or logistics

Ability to work effectively cross functionally, both internally and externally and build relationships

Experience with commodities (metals, stampings, castings, plastics, resins, paint, electronics, etc.)

Experience handling commercial issues with suppliers and assessing supplier performance

Proven competence in negotiating skills

Professional interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

Must be willing to travel 10%

Preferred Qualifications:

Automotive industry experience

Knowledge of procurement process

Knowledge of materials management

Capable of interpreting market data/ financial data / product cost data

Able to understand application of a part into a vehicle

Solid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processes

Share knowledge across the team

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, related field,

Preferred:  

Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related advanced degree a plus
