Inventory Management Specialist - manufacturer in North Portland Location: N Portland Pay: $60K - $75K (depending on experience) Length: 3-month contract to PERMANENT Hire! Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm (with overtime as needed) Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Management Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of ERP systems, inventory management, and supply chain processes. This role requires excellent analytical skills, proficiency in Excel, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. + + Monitor and manage inventory levels using ERP systems, ensuring adherence to min/max inventory levels. + Conduct cycle counts and use part numbers for accurate inventory tracking. + Enter purchase orders (PO) and manage parts systems MRP based on job orders and demand. + Analyze depletion history to forecast monthly inventory needs. + Utilize PLEX system (training provided) for inventory and order management. + Generate and set up purchase orders, ensuring timely placement based on demand. + Maintain regular communication with suppliers to ensure adherence to timelines. + Handle both international and domestic purchase orders. + Complete necessary paperwork and worksheets related to purchase orders and time changes. + Ensure smooth supply chain flow by managing inventory deviations and creating effective plans. + Notify vendors of any issues and coordinate on-site stocking, including light lifting and use of hand carts. + Identify proper and stable sources of materials for company purchases. Arrange and evaluate competitive price quotations in addition to supplier dependability and resourcefulness in meeting company requirements. Participate in supplier contract review, negotiation, and certification. + Review MRP (Materials Resource Planning) system regularly to ensure supply shortages do not occur. + Place purchase orders for materials with prioritization on pricing and on-time delivery of goods while properly maintaining purchasing records and inventory levels. + Locate new supplier/vendor sources, and in regular course of work make recommendations based on knowledge of industry trends, price, availability of materials, and process improvements to ensure continued flow of materials to meet production process requirements. + Maintain and provide proper documentation to support domestic and international federal regulatory requirements for all purchased materials. + Contact suppliers on adjustments, incorrect/damaged goods deliveries, and follows-up on and expedited orders. What You Bring: + 3-5 years of experience in a Buyer role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. + Proficiency in ERP systems and Excel for data analysis. + Strong understanding of inventory management, including cycle counts and depletion history analysis. + Understanding of inventory management (mins and maxes) + Willingness to learn and adapt to new systems, including PLEX. + Strong vendor communication skills.
