Job Title: Materials SIOP BuyerJob Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Materials SIOP Buyer to support our Palm Beach Geared Turbo Fan Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (WPB GTF MRO) Materials Team. In this role, you will drive Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) across all functions within WPB GTF MRO. Your responsibilities will include net inventory planning, variance analysis, problem resolution reports, cost reduction initiatives, and vendor management. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems in a manufacturing environment and utilize data-driven decision making to ensure effective material availability and forecasting for vendor on-time deliveries.
Responsibilities
+ Ensure the ordering of material details and manage the buyer queue to meet specific engine sales order requirements.
+ Coordinate and expedite purchase orders and update the material resource planning (MRP) system in SAP.
+ Monitor and communicate material shortage risks and identify mitigation opportunities.
+ Attend daily production meetings to report on material and vendor status, address urgent issues, and provide material availability analysis and updates.
+ Support ad hoc management and operations requests for information, analysis, and improvement opportunities.
+ Investigate and resolve materials inventory and purchase order issues impacting financials and engine turnaround.
+ Utilize internal continuous improvement operating systems to standardize and drive process improvements for materials.
+ Review engine material technical requirements prior to engine inductions to ensure proper material sourcing.
+ Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree with 5 years of purchasing experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of purchasing experience.
+ Experience with SAP.
+ Advanced Excel skills including vlookups and pivot tables.
+ Experience in sourcing direct materials and placing purchase orders.
+ Ability to understand technical writing and read blueprints.
+ US Citizenship is required.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with Smartsheet.
+ Lean background (Six Sigma certifications).
+ Knowledge of Excel macros.
+ Basic programming knowledge.
+ Experience with SAP query writing.
+ Aviation background .
+ Data analytics experience (BI Tools).
Work Environment
This role is onsite from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, within the MRO environment. The position may require support on some holidays, with PTO and holiday pay provided. The work environment includes collaboration with various functional areas such as Operations, Engineering, Quality, Customer Service, PW Spares, Shipping & Receiving, Supply Chain, and External Vendors. Employees will work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the design and production of new geared turbo fans for commercial aircraft.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
