The role: 

As a Buyer – MRO Consumables and PPE, you will help drive our goals by: 

Deliver annual savings and cash flow targets across MRO Consumables, including PPE, lubricants, packaging, and maintenance parts, through proactive spend management. 

Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans, aligned with stakeholder requirements, to deliver optimal results and maximize procurement efficiency. 

Lead demand analysis and forecasting within the category, enabling informed negotiation strategies and competitive tenders. 

Actively manage 80%+ of total spend in the MRO consumables subcategory to ensure control, compliance, and value delivery. 

Maintain robust supplier management plans and ensure taxonomy, PR/PO processes, and data structures are fit for purpose and compliant. 

Build a pipeline of savings initiatives for the current year and two years ahead, while continuously scanning the market for innovations, new suppliers, and process improvements. 

Key skills that will help you succeed in this role: 

Minimum 5 years of experience in MRO procurement and Engineering/Maintenance/Safety roles within heavy manufacturing industries (e.g., Steel, Automotive Tier 1, Chemicals). 

Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with proven ability to analyse data at purchase order level to identify cost-saving opportunities. 

Experience with contract negotiation (commercial, technical, legal) and cross-functional project execution across different cultures and time zones. 

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field, or equivalent professional experience. 

Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Microsoft Office (Excel intermediate or higher), and e-procurement tools; knowledge of Power BI and Coupa Source-to-Contract (S2C) is highly desirable.
