What We Are Looking For

 

3D Systems is looking to add a Specialist Buyer to our team to enhance Buying, drive efficiency and cost-saving initiatives, and complete projects as assigned to meet the Sales and Operations Plan. Maintain supplier relationships. Responsible for raw material inventory levels, price, quality, and on-time delivery.

 

What You Will Do

 

Lead NPI (new production introduction) programs for Procurement function Early engagement with R&D – to achieve competitive advantage in quality, cost, delivery, technology – DfX  focus on procurement, cost, manufacturability, service/repairability, part re-use and leverage Work with/partner with Strategic Sourcing / Commodity Managers to select prototype and production suppliers – in alignment with defined commodity strategies (request for case, cost analysis/cost modelling, supplier selection, onboarding/ramp) Lead and manage procurement deliverables as part of product development process… Cost estimates/projections, modelling and tracking of costed bill of material Identify and mitigate risks – commercial, technical/quality, delivery Schedule management Part ordering and tracking Timely engagement of Supplier Quality function for part validation and release Alignment with Planning on risk buys Handover to Tactical Procurement – release for production Identification of further improvement opportunities post release (Quality, Delivery, Cost)…in partnership with Strategic/Tactical Procurement function, Planning, R&D, Service, Quality, Finance, Legal Promote and foster simplification and standardization of tools, processes pertaining to Procurement & new product development/new production introduction *

EDUCATION\:

 

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering A Master’s Degree in Business or a Technical field is preferred  Professional Supply Chain certification is a plus Project Management certification is a plus Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification a plus Current CQA or CQE Certifications a plus

 

EXPERIENCE\:

 

8 years of experience in procurement or related area required Experience in new product introduction – supply chain/manufacturing/procurement Lean Manufacturing and/or Continuous Improvement Experience preferred ISO 9000 or equivalent experience preferred Working in an international environment, in international companies and matrix organizations

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS\:

 

Strong business acumen, strong engineering/technical competence High level of negotiation skills, ability influence Ability to communicate across functions and on different levels, tailoring the communication and messaging; excellent communication skills – logical and organized Proven track record to work with R&D, Product development functions Excellent communication skills Demonstrated knowledge of lean manufacturing processes Experienced in purchasing and sourcing Project management skills Excellent skills in Microsoft applications\: PowerPoint, Excel and Word; PowerBi is a plus  Out-of-the-box thinker, decisive; experienced in and capable of leading change Excellent team player Historically, has demonstrated understanding the difference between giving a best effort versus doing what’s a necessity

Salary Range\: $100,000 - $120,000 annually (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the candidate, and alignment with market data) In addition to a salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus based upon company performance. 3D Systems offers a comprehensive benefit package including medical, dental and vision coverage, company-paid short-term and long-term disability insurance, and company-paid basic life insurance. Sick Leave, Flex (Vacation) Time, Parental Leave, and 9 holidays per year are also provided as paid time off. 3D Systems also provides a 401(k) Retirement Savings Plan option with a company match. *
