About the Position: This position is located at the Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) This will be a permanent position. Responsibilities Provides advice, counsel, and instruction to accomplish assigned functions. Contributes to the determination of policy, resource needs and allocation of resources. Determines the business unit’s priorities, goals, and development of plans for accomplishment of assigned workload. Analyzes problems and works to obtain resolutions, considering the input of team members while ensuring solutions are in the best interests of the government. Specialized Experience required for the GS-14 level: To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled such as Evaluate overall performance on work and administrative matters of subordinates. Contribute to the determination of policies, resource needs and allocation of resources. Determine and propose changes, finding ways to eliminate or reduce significant barriers to program management, production, promote team building, and/or improve business unit practices. Lead, coordinate, manage, and/or monitors overall planning for the business unit, manpower, and services needed to accomplish assigned production projects/programs. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Accountability Oral Communication Problem Solving Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13). Education Additional Information The Rock Island Arsenal Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center occupies 1.5 million square feet of its Kingsbury Complex home. As the only multi-purpose and vertically integrated metal manufacturer in the Department of Defense, the center possesses the unique technical expertise and equipment to manufacture products high in quality and sustainability. RIA-JMTC also reaches out to the community by offering machinist apprenticeships and other training programs to qualified applicants. The availability of centralized manufacturing and testing allows production to come full circle, thus minimizing the need to outsource. This full service center holds within it the people and the equipment needed to meet goals of continuous process improvement, efficiently utilizing available time and money.
