Business Support Specialist – Direct & Facultative, North American Property
We are delighted to be able to offer this great opportunity to join as an Business Support Specialist with our Property & Casualty Direct and Facultative teams. Your focus will be North American Property team working closely with our broking and client leaders to provide exceptional client service to a broad range of global clients.
We provide a large range of products for a variety of clients in:
• Property, Casualty and specialist areas such as Product Recall and Environmental Liability.
• North America and International
• Industry verticals including construction, food and drinks, manufacturing, life science and many more.
• Bespoke facultative reinsurance solutions for our diverse client base, ranging from large and small overseas insurance companies, local insurers and Lloyd’s Syndicates.
Every client is unique in large part to changing legal or regulatory environments and fluctuations in the marketplace. You would need to be aware of client’s developing demands and needs.
We are an integral part of the end-to-end client servicing function, beginning with the discussions with our clients to establish their reinsurance requirements alongside our brokers, through to the completion of the reinsurance product. This can take the form of face-to-face meetings or conference calls with the client, as well as the reinsurance market, to tailor a structured reinsurance programme to meet our clients’ needs. We work closely with the London market brokers during the process to assist them with the co-ordination of the placement, keeping the client up to date on progress.
We are an agile working team and utilise the skills and proximity of the London market as required, to fulfil the clients’ requirements.
The role encompasses regular client and underwriter contact, either in person (whether in our office or at their location), or via all other available communication methods.

The Role
• The successful candidate would work with various team members from all levels to assist in the day to day activities required to place our risks into the London and European marketplace.
• The day to day role will involve a variety of activities from analysis of individual or portfolios of risks, working with our US colleagues and London placement specialists to further understand the risk and strategize on placement options and ultimately be part of the placement team.
• Analysis of risk will include catastrophe modelling, programme coverages, geographical and occupancy exposures, engineering reports, client retention impacts and historical data.
• Once there is a true understanding of the client then the successful candidate would approach the markets with the placement team with a clear global strategy.
In addition:

• Exceptional client service by providing responsive and proactive support to our clients.
• Build internal and intercompany relationships within all WTW departments, including Mumbai, Operations, Compliance, Wordings, Legal, Accounting and Settlement and Claims.
• Develop responsibilities for data, metrics and key reports to track progress towards objectives.
The Requirements
Preferably ACII qualified or equivalent, or a desire to work towards CII and other professional qualifications.Relevant experience and reputation for servicing clients in the insurance industry, or similar profession.Strong capabilities in respect of using and adopting IT, software and applications.Good analytical capabilities of information and data for presentations to markets and clients.Strong organisational skills and ability to triage priorities.Good communication, negotiation and adaptive interpersonal skills.Good ability to understand and explain complex concepts and make recommendations to clients and client servicing teamsProven ability to build relationships and network with other departments.
