We have an exciting opportunity to join the Payroll team, as a Business support senior specialist - Payroll Advisor. The team are responsible for processing the payroll for approx. 7,000 UK Colleagues in addition to the Payrolls for the Crown Dependencies, Gibraltar, DIFC in the UAE, International assignees and supporting the payroll reconciliations for Ireland.
The primary function of the payroll team is to process, administer and deliver all aspects of remuneration accurately and timely in accordance with WTW policies meeting the strict government legislative regulations and compliance requirements. This is a hybrid role with the need to be in office for 3 days in a week at the Ipswich office,
The Role:
Collaborate with HR, Pension & Benefits, and the Payroll Admin team to ensure accurate, timely, and audited data input, maintaining financial control and integrity. Review and reconcile pay run output documentation to ensure accuracy. Ensure compliance with UK statutory regulations regarding payments and deductions in accordance with HMRC and company policies. Implement and maintain practices that support ongoing compliance with internal and external audit requirements. Manage and resolve colleague queries received through the WTW UK Payroll mailbox and the case management system, "Service Central." Process and approve manual payments via the JPM portal as needed. Provide support and assistance to Payroll colleagues, including senior team members, as required. Offer absence cover for Payroll colleagues, including senior team members, when necessary. Assist in the creation and maintenance of process documentation related to Payroll administration. Adhere to statutory, business, and third-party provider deadlines. Handle sensitive data in compliance with GDPR regulations, ensuring confidentiality, discretion, and professionalism at all times. Perform general administrative duties as required.The Requirements
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislationProven experience in a fast-paced payroll environment, managing high-volume monthly payrollsUnderstanding of taxable benefits, including P11D, PSA, and taxable expenses.Exceptional attention to detail.Advanced computer literacy, particularly in Excel, with proficiency in data manipulation, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables.Clear and effective communication skills, adaptable to various audiences and communication styles.Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage competing demands, and meet deadlines.Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.Experience working both independently and collaboratively within a team.Flexible and adaptable, with a proactive and positive approach to change.Familiarity with company policies and procedures, including the ability to provide guidance as needed.Willingness to support senior team members in both daily operations and project work.CIPP qualification (achieved or in progress) or equivalent certification.Desirable (but not essential):
Experience working with ADP iHCM Payroll software and Oracle HR Cloud.Knowledge of UK Crown Dependency payrolls (Channel Islands and Isle of Man)
