Job Description

This role provides specialist assistance to Senior Business Resilience and Crisis Management Function to ensure that Business Resilience processes are implemented, embedded, evaluated, and maintained at business segment and country level. The individual is accountable for achieving results through own efforts and co-ordination of others.

Represent the Central Business Resilience Function in challenging business risk management information received from reporting entities. Provide support & assistance to business segments and countries, where required, to embed the organizational Business Resilience and Crisis Management Policy and Practices into the culture of the organisation. Make Recommendation, Prepares and compiles relevant reporting, and manage priorities of operational and technical delivery.

Key Result Areas:

Providing OML BCM Toolkit Training and SupportEnsure that the Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) is managed and updated in accordance with the Resilience Policy.Supporting Business Continuity Review and Approval process            Business Impact Assessments.            BCP Updates Performing Risk and Threat Assessments.Conduct Business Resilience Training and Awareness workshops.Assess Business Risk and Develop and implement Crisis Management structures, plans, and procedures. Where business response plans exist, review, update and maintain BCM and Crisis Management Plans.Assessing and raising risks and threats that emerge from workshops.Interacting with Operational Readiness and IT DR teams to drive alignment between the IT DR Plan and Business Resilience requirements.Conduct Operational Readiness BIAs to ensure risk is assessed and RTO is aligned to the business requirements.Running workshops with the Business owners and interrogating results.Testing Business Resilience Plans (including Business Continuity Plans & Crisis Management Plans), to ensure recovery strategies are fit for purpose.Facilitating Business Continuity awareness sessions with the Business.Developing and carrying out training and testing for Crisis management teamsTraining, Business Resilience Mangers, and Coordinators.Training business individuals (Plan Owners and Maintainers) on Resilience initiatives.Manage the BCMS Calendar with business segments to ensure that Business resilience activities (BIA, BCP, Testing, Awareness, Compliance, etc.) are reviewed and updated a pre-determined schedule.Facilitating updates with Business when required.Reviewing the Business Resilience Policy and Strategy and making recommendations for updates where required.Building best practice frameworks into the Business Resilience engagements, as required.Support the Business reporting processes (Board Reports) by provide updates and insights of BCMS status, compliance, and maturity across the businesses.

3rd Party Due Diligence

Collaborate with various internal and external partners and functions to implement, coordinate, maintain, and improve all operational resilience aspects of a resilient 3rd party due diligence framework.Ensure that all Identified third party (clients, suppliers) services are assessed in line with the OML due diligence framework and operational resilience processes and methodologies.Support business initiatives with regards to third-party due diligence activities as well as offering advice and support on matters involving 3rd-party Resilience Risk assessments on all new and existing (key tiered) Service Provider. Thus, ensuring all critical service providers comply with the minimum resilience requirements of the organisation.

Project Management

Collaborate with various internal and external partners and functions to implement, coordinate, and manage Resilience Projects.Carry out the end-to-end project management process, provide regular updates and reports on the project and take accountability for the delivery of the initiatives.

Engagements and Other responsibilities include:

Operational Resilience: Participate in all ongoing initiatives in support of the establishment and implementation of the Operational Resilience Model for OM. Take own initiative where necessary to improve and enhance the Ops Res capability.Drive commitment, ownership, accountability, and results within the overall Operational Resilience (business resilience and 3rd party resilience) framework.Participate in local and international forums and conferences on Operational Resilience (Business Resilience and 3rd Party Due Diligence topics) representing the business.Be the central communication point person for Business Resilience, ISO22301 and 3rd Party Resilience matters.Assistance to business unit management where required to embed Business Resilience into the culture of the organization & provide challenge were deemed appropriate.Prepares and compiles relevant reports e.g., monthly BR reports.Maintains the BR schedule.Co-ordinate Business Resilience planning and updating in-country (OM Africa Regions)

Minimum Requirements:

Matric and Relevant BCM or Risk Management Qualification.Minimum of 3 years relevant experienceISO 22301 Implementer Certification (advantageous)CBCI qualification / certification or Programme in BCM certification is advantageousCrisis Management Experience and training is required.Information Security resilience and IT DR experience is advantageousUnderstand or experience with the Operational Resilience Framework3rd-Party / Vendor risk management experience is advantageous.Ability to conduct business impact assessments, manage crisis and incident events and participate in disaster recovery activities.Excellent relationship building skills and ability to influence others.A team player who can interface at all levelsA motivated self-starter, capable of working on own initiative with a high level of integrity.Ability to work professionally and constructively within a team environment providing advice and consultancy.A confident communicator, resourceful and proactive, ensuring adequate quality and timely delivery of presentations and reports.Proficient in MS Office,  Excel, Visio and PowerPointA background in risk management, audit, assurance or business continuity within a financial services, technology or business services industry preferred.
