What You'll Do

Due to growth of the business, Expand is looking to hire an Operations Manager. This person will play a critical role in supporting the COO in managing and optimizing Expand’s operational activities and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic and day-to-day priorities.

 

The Operations Manager will take ownership of various operational tasks, assist with reporting and process improvements, and provide tactical support for decision-making. Working within a small, London-based team, they will be responsible for ensuring that key operational priorities are executed in a timely fashion.

 

The role requires a proactive, organized, and collaborative individual who can balance strategic awareness with practical execution, contributing to the smooth functioning of operations and helping the organization achieve its goals. You will have the opportunity to make meaningful impact on a globally growing business.

 

You will work across the following:

Process Optimization: Refine and maintain the operating model to drive efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business needs, proactively identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions in collaboration with the COO.Project Work: Lead the end-to-end execution of key operational projects, assisting with planning, coordination, and execution to ensure deliverables are met on time and align with strategic objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address challenges and drive progress.Tactical Decision Support: Act as a trusted advisor in day-to-day decision-making, gathering relevant information, analyzing options, and preparing clear, actionable recommendations to enable informed decisions.Streamline Reporting and Processes: Oversee and enhance operational reporting processes, ensuring actionable insights are presented to leadership while reducing their reporting workload. Support the COO in identifying gaps and ensuring follow-through on critical actions.Stakeholder Coordination: Build strong relationships across teams and leadership, proactively facilitating cross-functional collaboration, aligning priorities, and maintaining clear, consistent communication to drive progress.Organize and Prioritize Operations: Structure and prioritize operational workflows and the COO’s commitments, balancing immediate needs with long-term strategic goals to maximize impact and minimize inefficiencies.Communication and Presentations: Prepare high-quality communication materials, including internal and Board updates, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

What You'll Bring

An ideal candidate will have:

Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Business Administration, Economics, or similar. Master’s or MBA a plus.6+ years experience in an operational role within consultancy, financial services, or similar professional services organization. Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.Ability to learn quickly and proactively take initiative and ownership of delivering tasks to agreed deadlines. Adaptable and comfortable in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Flexible in responding to changing priorities and challenges.Analytical mindset, with a drive to create, follow, monitor and improve processes to work efficiently.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to draft professional correspondence and reports.Excellent Excel and Powerpoint skills to analyse and visualize operational data and communicate key messages.Proficiency in Power BI or similar automation and reporting tools, with the ability to design dashboards, automate workflows, and generate actionable insights to support decision-making.You need to be a problem solver and forward thinker – don’t just fix the immediate ask, but take ambiguous issues, break them down to understand the root cause, and then design a future-proof solution.Strong decision-making skills, knowing when to act independently and when to seek input.
