Business Office/Accounting Specialist + San Leandro, CA + Fairmont Hospital + FMT Administration + Services As Needed / Per Diem - Varies + Req #:41199-30468 + FTE:0.01 + Posted:January 24, 2025 **Summary** **SUMMARY** : The Business Office/ Accounting Specialist provides support to Fairmont skilled nursing business office and accounting departments; performs billing functions for all residents at the skilled nursing facility; assists in obtaining referral information; screening referrals; completing admissions process; Performs relates duties as required. **DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: NOTE** : The following are the duties performed by employees in this classification, however, employees may perform other related duties at an equivalent level. Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 1. Screens patients by verifying payor source prior to admission; assists in evaluating and accepting or rejecting residents; referring patient and family to other programs 2. Participates in conducting tours to potential patients 3. Assists in resolving patient/family dissatisfactions by investigating concerns; recommending changes in services in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team members 4. Prepares all necessary documents for new admissions 5. Provides and facilitates the admission packet process with resident, guardian, and/or resident representative 6. Coordinates with Nursing and EVS that the rooms are clean and tidy for admissions 7. Responsible for Census tracking, Medicare A and B billing, and Medi-Cal/Managed MediCal billing. 8. Initiates and controls PASRR forms. Prepares UB 40’s. 9. Controls Medicare certification and recertification. 10. Produces Medicare Credit Balance Report quarterly 11. Prepares MC-171 admission and discharge notifications. Posts ancillaries and cash. Produces Private Pay statements. Verifies Medi-Cal eligibility monthly and is responsible for TAR control for Medi-Cal. Works with payer for billing and collections 12. Compares common working files monthly. 13. Completes patient trust bank reconciliation 14.
