Group/Division Summary:

Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. Position Summary:

Point of contact for timely response of technical inquiries from business development and contracts & proposal development personnel. Responsible for developing work scopes with technical detail and associated costs for RFPs in a specific business area. This role ensures consistency in presentation, evaluation, and pricing of contracted work scopes. Responsible for development and delivering presentations based on market information, industry trends/changes, and historical experience. Leads project kick-offs with core teams to seamless hand off and reduce redundant activities. May be a technical expert and lead technical discussions in order to support new business.

Key Responsibilities:Knowledgeable in both lab capabilities and lab experienceDepth of technical knowledge to address program specific questions and to be able to scope new work requests with minimal direction according to regulatory requirementsDetermines resource need and timing for studiesLeads new client meetings covering capabilities, best practice, and supplemental services based on client needs/program types-at client or CRG siteLeads internal teams for proposal completion, budget, and reviewLeads RFI completion for operationsLiaison between BD and Management on new work scopesProvides updates to departmental, site, and (corporate/Thermo) mgmt on business metrics, customer and technology trends, etc.Involved/aware of all service offering changes, expansion, or additions-may be involved/lead CapExUpdates department level slides, modality capabilities, and technology expansion for presentation to clientsResponsible for overall client(s) portfolio, including but not limited to quality, financial, operational, and strategic oversight. Qualifications:BA/BS degree (preferably in statistics, business, or relevant science application)12+ years’ experience in applicable discipline including strong science background

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Working knowledge of financial systems, reporting dashboards and applicable business systems related to Thermo Fisher ScientificStrong working knowledge of LIMs and any other analytics tools and applications used by the businessExperience working with business accounting practices and current industry normsExcellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers and subject matter expertsAbility to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments, and create deliverables with minimal direction.Working Conditions and Environment:

How much travel is required: Some, 10-20% travel with potential of regional, domestic and international
