Position Overview

evolving AI-driven landscape. As part of our Research team, you will play a pivotal role in understanding how emerging
technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence, are reshaping the competitive landscape across Manufacturing, AECO
(Architecture, Engineering, Construction, and Operations), and Media & Entertainment.

In this role, you will leverage your analytical expertise to deliver market and competitive insights that support Autodesk’s
strategic planning and business priorities. You will help identify and track key AI trends, monitor competitor movements,
and turn data into compelling narratives that drive action. Your research and reporting will support strategic planning by
surfacing insights for senior leaders and cross-functional partners. If you flourish in a collaborative environment and are

Location: We support hybrid work, and you work near our Boston, Massachusetts or Toronto, Canada offices. This role follows East Coast hours.
 

Responsibilities

Conduct in-depth competitive analysis focused on AI innovation across key industries—Manufacturing, AECO, and Media & Entertainment

Track AI trends and emerging technologies that could disrupt or enhance Autodesk’s strategic position

Synthesize complex datasets and qualitative inputs into clear, data-driven insights and strategic recommendations

Develop and maintain dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI or Tableau to support ongoing analysis and reporting

Create clear, visually compelling briefs and presentations that help stakeholders across teams, including senior leaders, understand trends and opportunities

Collaborate with teams across Research, Strategy, and Product to align findings with Autodesk’s business priorities

Support the development of Autodesk’s AI market intelligence function, contributing to tools, processes, and best practices

Stay ahead of the curve on competitor announcements, funding trends, academic research, and regulatory shifts relevant to AI

Minimum Qualifications

3+ years of experience in business intelligence, competitive analysis, market research, or strategy

Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract insights from complex datasets

Hands-on experience with tools such as Airtable, Power BI, Tableau, or similar

Proficiency in Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables) and SQL for data querying and manipulation

Strong business acumen with a deep interest in AI trends and their real-world impact

Exceptional storytelling, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to distill insights for senior stakeholders

Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional environments, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities

Bachelor’s degree in business, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

MBA or equivalent business background with a focus on strategy, technology, or analytics

Familiarity with Autodesk’s core industries—Manufacturing, AECO, or Media & Entertainment

Experience working in a tech-forward environment or with emerging technologies

Understanding of competitive strategy frameworks (e.g., Porter’s Five Forces, SWOT)

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $70,800 and $122,100. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
