Business Development Specialist – Port Elizabeth
Reference PE002925 Location Eastern Cape, Port Elizabeth Salary Interval Monthly Package None-negotiable Description Our client in the logistics sector based in Port Elizabeth is currently looking to employ a Business Development Specialist.

The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for driving strategic sales management and business development initiatives and fostering / nurturing new and existing client relationships within the organization, focusing on growth within the agriculture and logistics sectors. This role requires a proven track record in sales, strong financial acumen, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Requirements:
Tertiary Qualification in Business Management, Logistics, or Sales. Minimum of 8 years’ experience in strategic sales management, business development, or operational management. Proven track record of sales and business development success. Experience in the Agriculture or Logistics sectors is advantageous. Familiarity with soft commodity trading is a plus. Bilingual proficiency (English and Afrikaans). Valid Driver’s License and Own Transport is essential. Willingness to travel nationally to engage with customers. Strong financial acumen. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Commanding desire for continuous learning and growth. Ability to adapt and function effectively in a fluid environment.   
Responsibilities and expectations but not limited to:

Business Development / Sales & Trading
Identify new business opportunities to ensure growth and development. Generate sales by cultivating relationships with existing and potential clients through visits and presentations. Maintain advanced knowledge of products and utilize marketing principles to convert leads into sales. Establish sales targets and implement strategic plans to meet these targets. Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.  
Business Management
Assist in managing operations and driving growth at a macro level. Analyze market trends and understand the dynamics of the soft commodity market. Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks to minimize impact on the business. Monitor competitors to maintain market relevance. Develop and implement strategies for business and profit growth. Lead and present business information in meetings with internal teams, suppliers, and clients. Contribute to team development and growth. Prepare and present regular sales and business reports. Provide standby support for team members.  
Customer Service & Support
Engage authentically with customers to present quality products and services. Identify customer requirements to offer suitable solutions. Build customer trust and ensure retention through excellent service delivery.
