Business Development Rep

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Business Development Representative to join our sales development team. In this role, you will be responsible for prospecting new business opportunities and supporting field sales representatives within their respective territories. Your primary focus will be on generating new business opportunities within new accounts, building new relationships with inactive customers, and contributing to the overall growth of our business. Ideally this position would be based in the Kansas City Metro Area. This job can be predominately remote after an initial training period.

Responsibilities:

Prospecting and Lead Generation: Identify and research potential business opportunities within designated field sales territories. Utilize various channels for prospecting new and underdeveloped customers and generate high-quality sales leads. Expand our presence into all food and beverage business segments.  Support for Field Sales Representatives: Collaborate closely with all field sales representatives to provide support in growing and expanding their customer base. Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with both new and dormant customers, understand their business needs and pain points, and effectively communicate how our company can address these needs. Sales Strategy and Execution: Develop and execute strategies to drive business growth at the field sales level. Track and report on sales activities, pipeline status, and closed business. Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed assigned sales targets and KPIs. Take ownership of personal performance and continuously seek ways to improve and achieve measurable results.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree required. Degree in Professional Selling, Marketing, or Business is a plus. Telephone sales experience preferred. Strong prospecting and lead generation skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to build and maintain client relationships. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics and ZoomInfo is preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Self-motivated with a proactive approach to problem-solving. Must have practical sales experience, preferably in food/meat processing, industrial processing, personal protection equipment, or plant operating supplies. Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work in a team setting with a diverse group of employees, managers, and outside parties. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office Products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel required. Experience with IBM I-Series/AS400 operating system highly preferred. Some travel is required with overnight stays.
