Hire Resolve’s client, a leading fund management firm, is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Professional to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving the firm’s growth by increasing assets under management (AUM) and building long-lasting relationships with institutional clients. Responsibilities
Develop and implement strategies to attract new clients and grow AUM. Build and maintain relationships with institutional investors, including pension funds, insurers, and corporate treasuries. Identify opportunities in local and global equity investment spaces, aligned with the firm’s offerings. Manage existing client relationships to ensure retention and satisfaction. Provide regular market updates, investment insights, and portfolio performance reviews. Act as the primary liaison between clients and the investment team. Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and opportunities for expansion. Collaborate with the investment team to align business development strategies with investment products. Integrate ESG principles into business development activities, reflecting the firm’s commitment to responsible investing. Prepare detailed reports on client acquisition, retention, and AUM growth for management review. Ensure all business development activities adhere to South African regulatory standards (e.g., FAIS and FICA compliance).Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (CFA designation or equivalent will be advantageous). 5-10 years of experience in business development within the asset management or financial services industry. Proven track record of raising AUM and building client networks, particularly with institutional clients. Strong understanding of investment products, including global equity and ESG-focused strategies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present complex investment concepts clearly. Strong negotiation and relationship-building abilities. Analytical mindset with a good grasp of financial markets and investment principles. Self-motivated, results-driven, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively.Benefits
