This position does not offer relocation assistance. **Job Summary** This position will be based at either our corporate headquarters in downtown Richmond, VA. The Business Development Manager leads client/project origination activities for Dominion Energy Solutions’ commercial solutions business. This position's job duties include but are not limited to: + Identifies project opportunities in defined geography and leads customers/stakeholder outreach + Performs project site feasibility analysis for roof/land capacity, with structural, service equipment, financial, regulatory, environmental, zoning, and NEC code compliance + Direct or performs the design of project layouts consistent with all applicable laws and codes and maximizing solar production + Estimates project cost, leveraging vendor relationships as needed, based on the side specifics and optimizing design efficiency + Create and present customized proposals for specific audiences, comfortable presenting to counter party executives and local government leaders alike + respond to public and private sector RFPs within designated territory, including partnering with third parties on RFP responses + Maintain relationships with external third parties, including clients, solar developers, EPCs, partners, vendors, and community stakeholders + Additional functions include supporting and pursuing growth strategies and opportunities, leading evaluation, analysis, and due diligence activities, and participating in negotiations for prospective renewable energy infrastructure acquisition/partnership and development opportunities + The role involves leading internal teams from multiple disciplines and departments including construction, operations, external affairs, corporate communications, legal, tax, accounting, environmental, risk management, treasury, public policy, and financial analysis **Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience** **The knowledge, skills, abilities and education required for entry into this job include the following:** + 7+ years of related business development experience is required + Demonstrated consultative sales and negotiating skills + Ability to represent the Company in public forums + Demonstrated team building skills + Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and to manage changing and emerging priorities + Ability to handle sensitive company, vendor, and customer/client account information with discretion and confidentiality + Familiarity with contracting, competitive evaluations, project identification and development, risk analyses, and environmental evaluations + Local/regional knowledge and insight into the energy regulatory environment + Effective interpersonal, organizational and project management skills + Proven analytical skills + Excellent oral and written communication skills + Strong computer skills including MS Office products and solar production modeling applications + In-depth knowledge of energy efficiency and/or solar PV project design, performance modeling, and applicable local codes is preferred Military service members and veterans with ranks from E5 or higher, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined. **Education Requirements** **Education Level:** **Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:** Bachelor Disciplines: Preferred: Business Administration Business Management Engineering Finance Other disciplines may be substituted for the preferred discipline(s) listed above **Licenses, Certifications, or Quals Description** NABCEP, LEED, or CEM certifications and asset but not required. **Working Conditions** Office Work Environment 76 -100% Travel Up to 25% **Other Working Conditions** **Test Description** No Testing Required **Export Control** Certain positions at Dominion Energy may involve access to information and technology subject to export controls under U.S. law.
