**Business Development Manager**
POWER Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Manager to work in our Advanced Utility Solutions (AUS) division. This position reports to the Director of Business Development of AUS, works closely with managers of all AUS departments, and with other sales and marketing staff. The main role is to increase POWER’s visibility in the market to drive sales to increase revenues, as well as continue to solidify the company’s position as a leader in geospatial solutions, intelligent design solutions, asset management, and ADMS/Grid Modernization. The market focus is on utilities, municipal and local government, public works sectors in the gas, electric, and telecom industries and related segments.
**Roles and Responsibilities**
Customer-focused sales responsibilities:
+ Manage sales efforts related to winning new business
+ Develop, track, and manage opportunities to closure - from lead generation / prospecting, pre-sales consulting, solution discussions, demonstrations, pre-sales estimates, budgetary preparation counseling, RFP influencing, quote communication, proposal support, agreement processing, project pass-off, and initial coordination
+ Diligently track and document progress of all opportunities in the company’s CRM
+ On-going customer service and client advocacy
+ Communicate with potential customers / decision makers at targeted organizations
+ Hunt for new accounts and opportunities
+ Develop strong business relationships with existing and potential clients, as well as business partners
+ Work with department managers to develop business case(s) and demonstrate solutions, Trimble Solutions, ESRI Utility Network and ArcGIS solutions, intelligent design, ADMS, and related software
+ Participate / attend industry related trade shows, conferences, workshops or other promotional events in an effort to network, learn, promote, or cultivate potential or existing customer relationships
+ Provide superior account management, and maintain frequent and personal contact with existing customers to maintain strong relationships, long-term customer loyalty, and develop further potential
Market-focused sales responsibilities:
+ Review past POWER wins and losses and research competitor wins to determine adjustments required to POWER’s sales approach
+ Assess performance, collaborate on key performance indicators, research reporting, analysis, competitive intelligence acquisition, monitoring, documentation
+ Assist with pricing standardization to align with industry standards
+ Help streamline proposal drafts, contracts, collaborate on boilerplate sections and document maintenance
+ Provide input into the design, development and implementation of marketing strategies or campaigns that align with business targets and increase traffic
+ Generate innovative or new ideas to promote or expand the brand, products, and/or services within the Geospatial, Trimble / Asset Management, intelligent design, and ADMS/Grid Modernization businesses
+ Contribute to the development of a growth strategy focused both on financial gain and customer satisfaction; create business development plans or goals in alignment with business objectives
Other responsibilities:
+ Build and maintain in-depth product knowledge of products and services
+ Maintain and enhance business and technical knowledge of key technologies (Trimble, Utility Network, ArcGIS, Intelligent Design solutions, ADMS)
**Required Education/Experience**
+ BS/BA degree in business, marketing, or related degree.
+ Experience with selling technology platform solutions such as Trimble (Cityworks), ESRI, DDS, AUD, etc.
+ Account management experience.
+ Experience assessing performance, collaborate on key performance indicators, research reporting, analysis, competitive intelligence acquisition, monitoring, and documentation.
